Searching for Mister Right (Word)

Want to make the most of your Section 101 website? Here are some good suggestions: 

*Search Engine Optimization (SEO): SEO helps bring more traffic from search engines such as Google, Yahoo or Bing. Keywords can be important. You want to make sure whatever you’re talking about is searchable. If you want to promote a show you’re doing, make sure you use key words people would look for that are broad. For example, your headline could say "Los Angeles Area Band El Franco Announces New Tour Dates in the United Kingdom!" There are many words in there that would come up in a search. Be sure you tag your photos you post as well (see our Tip on the subject here).

*Links: Make sure you include links BACK to the items you talk about in your blogs, news items or press releases so that people can click on it to learn more. For example, Section 101 client Jonatha Brooke worked with Katy Perry, so she linked back to Katy’s site. It was a win for both of them.  If you’re blown away by the latest Taylor Swift track, link back to her website or a link to the song online. Maybe her fans will get turned on to you!

*Website Analytics: Connect your website to Google Analytics so that you can keep track of your traffic and stats.  Remember, it isn’t the amount of LIKES or FOLLOWERS you have, but the level of engagement with the fans you DO have. That’s something to keep in mind when you’re planning your topics from the month. With analytics, you can see what they’re responding to.
