Website Tips and Best Practices

Your Website’s Design is a Reflection of YOU

With a great music website layout and an amazing design, you’ll be able to make a great impression.
Your Layout
Section 101 does the heavy lifting for you with some great music-specific layouts to choose from.  Our music layouts includes a place for music pages, tour grids, a bio/about us page, news/press and more. Plus, it’s super easy to add a page if you want to.
Your Logo
Upload a custom image logo. If you don’t have one, you can use the Section 101 typographer tool to create one – the font style , size, and color all make a huge difference in reflecting your vibe.  A good logo can be used consistently to represent you and your fans will come to associate it with you every time they see it, like Pentatonix’s “PTX” logo. ptxofficial.com
Main Image
If you decide to use a main image, it will be one of the first things visitors see on your website.  It’s important to put some thought in to your first impression. What would grab your attention? That’s a great place to start your planning.  The Section 101 image tools allow you to alter images and photos by adding special treatments, enlarging/cropping them and making them black & white. You don’t need to be a photo editing pro!  Check out our site for Caroline Distribution and see what we mean. caroline.com
Backgrounds, Fonts and Colors
Choose from Section 101’s website page background colors and typography that best fit your look and feel. It is easy to add custom backgrounds, repeating images, texture, and transparencies, to give your website a very unique feel. Best of all, you can always change it if you decide it isn’t working for you. Section 101’s Aimee Mann has used this to great effect. aimeemann.com
