Section 101, a New York based company that delivers a dynamic web-based solution providing simple and effective tools for music and entertainment brands, has launched a new website for independent artist Aimee Mann at www.aimeemann.com The Grammy winning and Academy Award nominated singer-songwriter-guitarist has been a vital part of the music scene since the early 80s. As the front woman for ‘Til Tuesday, Aimee achieved instant notoriety with the song “Voices Carry,” which became a staple of alternative radio and MTV. After stepping out as a solo artist in 1993, she released two albums on major labels, Whatever (1993) and I’m With Stupid (1995). While her albums received critical praise, including her Academy Award nominated soundtrack for Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia, she found the major label system stifling. Aimee took her independence one step further, putting out her album Bacherlor No.2 on her own SuperEgo Records in 2000. Aimee went on to release four more albums independently [Lost in Space, The Forgotten Arm, One More Drifter in the Snow and @#%&*! Smilers, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart] as well as contribute to several soundtracks and compilations, becoming somewhat of a ‘patron saint’ to musicians putting out music without the financial support of a label. She is also one of the founders of United Musicians, a collective founded on the principle that every artist should be able to retain copyright ownership of the work he or she has created. This September 18th brings Aimee’s eighth album, Charmer, which is currently available for pre-order on her newly re-designed site, AimeeMann.com. You can also watch the hilarious new video for “Charmer,” featuring actress Laura Linney, on the site’s homepage. She has recently announced tour dates, with several concerts planned in the California area, and further dates in Oregon, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Columbus, Cincinnati, Detroit, Milwaukee, Madison, Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, and Toronto. She will likely be adding more dates, as well as unveiling new merchandise to complement the release of Charmer. An active tweeter, Aimee is in constant communication with her fans via her site and social pages. Says Karen Malluk, one of Aimee’s managers at Michael Hausman Artist Management, "As we announce Aimee's new album, Charmer, we are proud to launch Aimee's new website at www.aimeemann.com built by Section 101. We expected the new site to be great, but it exceeded our expectations. The design is beautiful and incorporates all the immediate info we need to promote right on the home page of the site. With the constant flow of new news, tour dates, and videos, we needed a platform where any of us in the office could easily update the site at any given moment. This site now gives us the tools to do this very easily. Working again with Section 101 has proved to be a seamless process." https://www.aimeemann.com @aimeemann https://Section101.com @section101tweet Section 101 delivers a dynamic web-based platform that presents simple and effective solutions for music and entertainment brands to manage and maximize their online presence.
