Section 101, a New York based company that delivers a dynamic web-based solution providing simple and effective tools for music and entertainment brands, has launched a new website for singer-songwriter Jonatha Brooke at https://jonathabrooke.com/.
Jonatha exploded on the scene in the late 80s, paired with fellow East Coast native Jennifer Kimball as the duo, The Story. Their brand of pop rock music garnered them a loyal following and a label deal. After two albums, Brooke went solo in 1994, with critics taking note of her Folk-Rock sound along with other like-minded artists coming up at the time such as Sheryl Crow, Shawn Colvin, The Indigo Girls, Paula Cole and Mary Chapin Carpenter. After parting ways with major label MCA, Jonatha realized that while she may not have tour support or someone to pay for a video, she did have a sold out tour and direct access to her audience, becoming one of the first artists to take her music directly to her fans. Selling her songs via the Internet, something that was not widely done, or even understood, at the time, Jonatha eventually launched her own label, Bad Dog Records.
Her music has been used in many television shows, commercials and films such as Disney’s Return to Neverland, the television shows Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Once & Again and Goodyear Tires. Much lauded by the press, Jonatha has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, American Songwriter, NPR World Café Live, Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly among many other outlets.
After the success of her last album, “The Works,” Jonatha is readying her next project, a musical called “My Mother has Four Noses.” She is raising funds on PledgeMusic
