ALISON BROWN & THE FIRST LADIES OF BLUEGRASS

Section 101 client Alison Brown has a new side-gig! “The First Ladies of Bluegrass,” which were initially assembled by Alison for a video, performed together for the first time at RockyGrass in Lyons, CO this summer. The group consists of Alison on banjo, Missy Raines on bass, with Becky Buller on fiddle, Sierra Hull on mandolin and Molly Tuttle on guitar. They, along with special guests Phoebe Hunt and Sally Van Meter, performed a set that went over big with the festival crowd. As such, the Ladies booked another gig at Wide Open Bluegrass (8 Stages, 100+ Artists) in Raleigh, NC following the IBMA World of Bluegrass convention in late September.

Alison, who Billboard magazine said “like James Taylor’s voice or B.B. King’s guitar, Alison Brown’s banjo is an instrument possessed of a unique sonic signature and inescapable beauty,” also has some of her own October dates, which you can see here.
