Come On, Get Active (Online!)

Want your Section 101 website to stand out from the pack? Interact!

When you invest time in a website, your goal should be to not only get visitors, but to have them come back again and again.

The best way to do this is to give them a reason - and there’s no better one than interacting with your fan base. Engagement is a two way street – you tell them about you, your music, upcoming projects, concert dates, and they tell you what they think about it. It really is as simple as it sounds!

Good ways to raise engagement on your website include contesting, where you might give away something signed or an opportunity for a fan to speak to you; Polls, where you ask your fans to give you some feedback on album art, design idea, or upcoming set list, and then let them know what you ultimately chose with their help; and asking for feedback on yours posts, such as a new blog, advance music, concert dates, what songs they’d like you to play live - anything that would require a response. It is important that you acknowledge what they have to say and keep the dialogue going. You never know what you might find out about your audience!
