Section 101 Blog

Your Student Advisor Was Right, Goals Are Important!

You’re on the right track, you have a Section 101 website that showcases your brand. Next, you have to figure out your goals:

1)    Draw attention to your work: Having a website helps get the word out about your product and also allows you to build a community. Fans and potential customers now have a central place to go to learn more about you and your work, and you set the pace and the expectations.
2)    Having an online web store, or links to purchase, is a good way to let people know that you’re the real-deal. You can sell your CD, book, product, etc on you Section101 website, but also other things - maybe unreleased tracks, short stories, tee shirts and more. The only thing limiting you would be your imagination!  You can use the link from your website on social media to help spread the word.
3)    Keep a Timeline! It is important to have one definitive resource to track your growth and revisit your history. It will become invaluable to you, and your fans, who have been with you from the beginning. They will love seeing your development, and a Timeline also serves as a way to show booking agents, editors, music bookers, etc all the recent, and archived, things you have done.
