For the 6th year in a row, Section 101 founder and CEO Liz Leahy will be moderating a panel, Secrets of The Trade – Release Your Music Without a Traditional Label taking place on Wednesday, March 16th from 5p-6p at the Austin Convention Center, 531 East 4th Street, Room 18D.
The world of music sales, marketing and distribution has changed radically over the past few years and continues to evolve at a rapid pace. Old barriers are gone. Existing rules are broken. New models are rapidly shifting and evolving. The traditional role and value of an old school label and distribution are just about dead.
This panel will help you learn all the ways you can effectively put your music out by helping you to refine all the ways to set up a release. In sharing ‘tricks of the trade’ you will hear about all the way to have the biggest impact on awareness that will lead to sales and growth. In addition, the panel will provide tips on how to build the audience that’s right for you. Other panelists include singer-songwriter Jamie Kent and Phil Shuster from Mute Management.
And mark your calendar – it’s the 5th anniversary of the Quantum Collective’s Southwest Invasion, March 17-19 on the Whole Foods Austin rooftop!
