Section 101, a New York based company that delivers a dynamic web-based solution by providing simple and effective tools for music brands to create their own website, is pleased to announce that CEO Liz Leahy will once again be moderating a panel at this year’s SXSW Music Conference.
Liz will be heading up the Courting Your Fans, How to Make the Romance Last panel, which takes place on Thursday March 13th at 5pm in the Austin Convention Center Room 11AB. It’s no secret that engaging fans is best done by utilizing customer care. However, with so many choices, what’s the best one for an established artist to stay in touch with their fan base and remain current? How do new artists cultivate an audience that will stay interested? What lessons can we take from some of the bigger industries – Apple computers, Adidas and Amazon, for example - who engage their customers so well they become loyalists?
Along with Liz, who has been perfecting this model since Section 101’s launch in 2009, the panel will have expert opinion with real-time experience in the form of Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega, Berklee College of Music’s head of social media Magen Tracy and Dan Silver, VP of Creative for Riptide Music Group. Liz has previously moderated 2010’s Getting a Digital Ass Kicking?, 2011’s Fan Analytics for Dummies, 2012’s On the Web, Biggest Opportunities that Others Miss, and 2013’a The Brand Called YOU: A New Take on an Old Theme.
In addition to paneling and exhibiting, Section 101 is also a co-founder of the Quantum Collective, an innovative music marketing company that brings music artists, celebrities and consumer brands together through innovative programs and live events. The Collective will be presenting their third annual Southwest Invasion during SXSW, which features 32 bands over two full days of music, art, food and fun. Confirmed performers include Lisa Marie Presley, Bad Things featuring Shaun White, A Great Big World, Suzanne Vega, G. Love, Matisyahu and more. The all-ages event takes place on the Whole Foods Rooftop in downtown Austin on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15th from 10a-10p.
