EAGLES OF DEATH METAL LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE!
Section 101, a New York based company that delivers a dynamic web-based solution providing simple and effective tools for music and entertainment brands has launched a new site for the rock band Eagles of Death Metal at http://www.eaglesofdeathmetal.com/.
Not a death metal act – but a band whose moniker was inspired by drummer Josh Homme wondering what a cross between The Eagles and Death Metal would sound like, EODM is comprised of two permanent members: frontman Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme (who is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for Queens of the Stone Age). A robust line up fill out the roster when Homme isn’t able to perform at live shows, and various well-known musicians have become ‘guest’ members of the group, including Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, actor/singer Jack Black and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones.
Eagles of Death Metal’s first album, Peace, Love, Death Metal, was released in 2004 and was immediately embraced by advertisers. Tracks from the album were featured in commercials for brands such as Nissan, Pontiac, Budweiser and more. Recently, the song “I Only Want You,” from their debut had the distinction of being chosen as music for the first advert for the new Windows 8. In 2006, EODM released their second album, Death by Sexy, following with Heart On in 2008. Several songs from both these releases were used in video games that include Need for Speed: Carbon, Tony Hawk’s Project 8 and Guitar Hero 5.
Eagles of Death Metal has a few upcoming dates in Austin for SXSW on March 13th, 15th and 16th.
