Section 101, a leading website platform for music, arts and entertainment brands, is thrilled that their longtime client, Pentatonix, has scored their first #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the release of their self titled album. Pentatonix is their fifth consecutive top 10 effort – and the first to feature their own compositions. The band were thrilled, with Mitch Grassi immediately tweeting their enormous fanbase, “I cannot BELIEVE it!! Thank you to everyone who bought the album!!”
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Pentatonix has made history as the first a capella group to land the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.
While gearing up to the release, Section 101 made sure that Pentatonix’s website and social media reflected the packaging and creative of their album. Visitors to http://ptxofficial.com saw the “rainbow” album art and were able to stream the album, via a Spotify playlist, on the home page.
The group will be out on the road, all over the world, supporting Pentatonix. Look for US dates to kick off on December 5th in San Francisco at the “One Starry Night” radio show for Star 101.
